Scope

This standard is applicable to the thermomechanical performance testing of disc-shaped suspended porcelain and glass insulator string components for AC and DC overhead lines with rated voltages higher than 1000V. This standard also applies to insulators of similar structure used in substations. This standard specifies the methods of thermal engine testing and the judgment of test results.
