- Part 1: Technical Requirements This standard specifies the transmission protocol between the local switch (LS) and the customer terminal equipment (CPE), as well as the technical requirements for the LS and CPE to adapt to the caller identification information transmission service. This standard applies to the implementation of caller identification information transmission on the fixed telephone network (PSTN) analog subscriber line. This standard describes the implementation of the caller identification information transmission service on fixed telephone networks. This standard does not include all inter-network signaling between digital program-controlled switches to transmit caller identification information.
