- This standard applies to microwave signal generators that generate sine waves with an effective frequency range covering part or all of 1 GHz to 100 GHz and with one or more modulations such as sinusoidal frequency modulation, sinusoidal amplitude modulation, or on/off pulse amplitude modulation. This standard is the technical basis for the design, production and use of signal generator products, and is also the basis for formulating product standards for various types of signal generators.
