- This standard specifies the type and basic parameters of U-shaped tube heat exchangers such as nominal diameter, nominal pressure, calculated heat exchange area, heat exchange tubes, number of tube passes, and baffle (support plate) spacing. This standard applies to carbon steel, low alloy steel and stainless acid-resistant steel heat exchangers used in the petroleum and chemical industries, and also applies to similar heat exchangers used in other industrial sectors.
