- This standard specifies the basic parameters and technical requirements for threaded heat exchange tubes used in shell and tube heat exchangers. This standard is applicable to heat transfer situations where the total thermal resistance outside the tube (including dielectric film thermal resistance and dirt thermal resistance) is a controlled thermal resistance. It is not suitable for situations where solid dust content is high or where coking is easy.
