- This standard specifies the series and basic parameters of wire and cable extrusion equipment. This standard is applicable to extrusion equipment for extruding thermoplastic and thermosetting cross-linked polyethylene insulation and sheathing for wires and cables. The extrusion equipment specified in this standard can also be used for other extrusion products whose extrusion process is similar to that of cable insulation or sheathing.
