Scope: This standard specifies the method for measuring the sound power level of casting machinery noise in an acoustic test environment with a free field above a reflecting plane. According to the acoustic test environment, the quantity to be measured and the measurement uncertainty requirements, it is divided into engineering method and simple method. This standard is applicable to all types of casting machinery that radiates steady-state, unsteady-state and periodically changing noise, but is not applicable to casting machinery that radiates pulse noise, nor is it applicable to noise measurement along the entire production line. For casting machinery with a linear scale exceeding 15m, only the simple method is suitable. The results measured using this standard can be used to compare the noise performance of casting machinery of the same type and specifications, and to evaluate the noise level of casting machinery using A-weighted sound power levels.
