- This standard specifies the X-ray photography method and welding method of fusion welded butt joints whose base metal thickness is not more than 20 mm, the material is copper and copper-based alloy, and the welding method is gas welding or argon arc welding (electric welding or submerged arc welding can also be used). Grading of seam quality. This standard applies to butt welds of copper vessels and copper pipes in air separation equipment. Other fusion welded butt joints whose base material is copper or copper-based alloys can also be used with reference. This standard does not restrict the use of gamma rays for transillumination inspection, but the photographic technical requirements must comply with the provisions of this standard.
