- This standard specifies the basic requirements for the design, materials of load-bearing parts, manufacturing quality control, inspection and selection of flexible couplings such as gear couplings and diaphragm couplings for industrial steam turbines. This standard is applicable to industrial steam turbines and other medium- and high-speed machinery that connect two shafts to transmit motion and power and require certain compensation capabilities for relative axial, radial and angular displacements between the axes of the two connected shafts.
