- This standard specifies the magnetic particle inspection of steel castings and methods for grading defects. This standard is applicable to the inspection of surface and near-surface defects and the assessment of quality grades of main steel castings for steam turbines. When this standard is adopted, the magnetic particle flaw detection diagram of the steel casting must be provided, and the parts required for flaw detection and the corresponding quality level should be indicated on the diagram.
