Scope
This document describes the application of the alternating salt spray test to components or equipment that are resistant to saline atmospheres, because salt can degrade the performance of metallic and/or non-metallic materials. This document applies to components or equipment that are resistant to saline atmospheres, and the corresponding severity level is selected according to the degree of tolerance during the test.
