This standard specifies the technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking and acceptance of low-pressure fiberglass line pipes. This standard applies to low-pressure glass fiber line pipes and pipes with a diameter not larger than 406.40mm (16in), manufactured by centrifugal casting and fiber winding methods, and used to transport fluids (including oil, gas, non-potable water and their mixtures) for the petroleum industry. Pipe fittings. This type of pipe is suitable for cyclic working pressure not greater than 6.89MPa (1000psi). It is recommended to purchase pipes and fittings according to pressure grade. Standard pressure grades are 1.03, 1.38, 1.72 and 2.07MPa (150, 200, 250 and 300psi). When purchasing pipes with pressure ratings greater than 2.07MPa (3001)si), they should be increased in increments of 0.69MPa (100psi), all based on circulating pressure. Higher pressure classes may be used at static pressure [see 5.5b]].
