Scope

This standard specifies the sampling methods, instruments and equipment, test procedures and results processing methods for testing the alkali activity of aggregates used in railway concrete using the rapid mortar rod method. This standard is suitable for evaluating the alkali-silicic acid reactivity of siliceous aggregates, and can also be used to evaluate the alkali-silicic acid reactivity of siliceous components in carbonate aggregates.
