Scope

This standard specifies a method for determining the volume fraction of microscopic components in whole-rock light sections using reflected white light and reflected fluorescence under a polarized reflection microscope. This standard is applicable to the determination of microscopic components of dark mudstone, carbonate rock and coal light sheet.
