- This standard specifies the multiplexing structure and frame structure of the first-level synchronous transmission module STM-1 in the synchronous digital series (SDH), the segment overhead and the main content of the payload in the frame. This standard also specifies the multiplexing relationship between the factory's fourth-level synchronous transmission module STM-4 and STM-1 and the frame structure of STM-4. This standard applies to public telecommunications networks. Non-2Mbit/s series leased channels are not within the scope of this standard.
