Scope

This standard specifies a method for measuring the whiteness of generally white and nearly white pulp, paper and cardboard, but does not apply to paper and cardboard containing added colorants (1). Note (1): Colorants can absorb light with a wavelength of 400-500nm, and must be measured with instruments such as a spectro-photometer and a colorimeter.
