- This standard applies to brake linings (pads) for automobile drum brakes and brake linings for disc (disc) brakes (hereinafter collectively referred to as brake linings). Remarks: The friction coefficient and its allowable difference and wear rate specified in this standard are tested using a fixed-speed friction testing machine with test pieces.
