Scope

1.1 This standard specifies the method for determining the hydrogen isotope content in tritium oxide (heavy water, D2O). The normal tritium (D) content in tritium oxide is 99.75 atom percent deuterium. The calculation method is as follows: D ∕ (D + H) × 100. Heavy water is mainly used as a moderator in production reactors, power reactors or research reactors. These reactors are fueled by fissile nuclear species
