Scope

This standard is applicable to the inspection procedures of transmission and communication optical fiber system components in order to establish standard inspection methods for optical loss and connection efficiency. Unless otherwise stated, this standard applies to general single and bundled optical fiber cable equipment, but does not add any provisions for some special inspection methods. If this standard conflicts with individual component standards or detailed specifications, the individual component standards or detailed specifications shall prevail.
