Scope

This standard specifies the performance test methods for automobile steering columns. Its purpose is to standardize the specifications of test methods related to the strength, rigidity and durability of automobile steering columns. Note: The steering column is the general name for the part that connects the steering wheel and the steering gear device. See CNS 10492 [Name of Steering Device], and does not include the remote control device of the transmission mechanism.
