Scope

This standard specifies the chemical analysis of barium, tin, silicon oxide, zinc, aluminum, calcium, magnesium, potassium and sodium in unused and used lubricating oils. Other metals, sulfur, phosphorus, chlorine, etc. in lubricating oil do not interfere with this determination method. Note 1: This method does not include the determination of lead, copper, and iron.
