Scope

This standard specifies the measurement method for the outer diameter of both ends of an uncoated optical fiber. This outer diameter is extremely important for the design and performance of the system's connectors and terminals. This method is not suitable for continuous diameter measurement for process control during manufacturing, but it can be used to measure the outer diameter of a non-absolute circle.
