- This standard specifies general matters concerning pictorial symbols for electrical and electronic equipment used for the following purposes. (1) Marked on various equipment or its parts to guide the holder in its use and operation. (2) Prompt prohibited matters, warnings, steps or restrictions to be followed, etc., to guide on-site personnel in moving or assembling. (3) Used in design drawings and other drawings to supplement relevant information.
