- Scope
- This standard specifies the method for qualitative determination of the combustion properties of kerosene for lighting purposes (note - kerosene is flammable and the vapor is harmful, see Appendix A 1.3). Note: Another related test method is a quantitative measure of the scorch tendency of kerosene lamp wicks, while this test method is a qualitative assessment of kerosene performance. Both methods test kerosene under harsh operating conditions that generally apply.
