- This standard aims to use bibliographic identification (biblid) to identify individual articles in journals and books. The bibliographic identification number consists of an identifying term and a code. The bibliographic identification number provides a standardized unique identification code in a fixed form on the home page of each article to facilitate automated record comparison, information retrieval, identification of hard copies, and file identification.
