The Italian version of European standard EN 289 (10th edition, October 1993) specifies the safety requirements for the design of hydraulic presses with vertical closure movement for compression and transfer printing of plastic and rubber materials. It excludes the following machines: a) injection molding machines (see EN 201); b) vulcanizing presses for tires; c) vulcanizing presses for belt conveyors; d) air chamber and bag vulcanizing presses. The technical safety requirements for auxiliary equipment and the suction system design are not included.
