The Chinese National Committee of Building and Civil Engineering Society (CECS) has recently established a new standard for water-based silicate anti-condensation paint, which is scheduled to take effect on March 1st, 2024. This standard, designated as T/CECS 10342-2023, aims to provide guidelines and criteria for the production, application, and quality control of this innovative coating material designed specifically for preventing condensation issues in various construction environments.
The water-based silicate anti-condensation paint described in this standard is intended to offer an environmentally friendly solution by minimizing volatile organic compounds (VOCs) commonly found in traditional coatings. This type of paint can effectively form a protective layer on the surface, which enhances insulation and prevents moisture from condensing on walls or other surfaces where it could lead to mold growth, deterioration of building materials, and increased energy consumption.
With its inception set for early 2024, this new standard will play an important role in guiding manufacturers, construction professionals, and regulatory bodies towards the adoption of more sustainable practices that not only enhance the durability and efficiency of buildings but also contribute positively to environmental protection efforts.
