Scope
As the drone industry develops, the application fields of drones are rapidly expanding. There is a growing demand for drone technology applications in various operational scenarios such as forest fire prevention and firefighting, earthquake rescue operations, power line inspections, oil pipeline patrols, logistics delivery, and takeout distribution. At the same time, with the increasing complexity and refinement of tasks, traditional single-unit modes can no longer meet the needs, making swarm flying mode for drones the mainstream trend in market development.
Currently, some domestic drone companies have carried out research and application of drone swarm flight technology, achieving certain results, such as accumulating technical experience in the field of aerial shows. The formulation of this standard will help solidify the achievements of drone swarm flight technology, regulate operational norms for drone swarms, and guide high-quality development of the industry.
Given that there are significant differences in requirements for drone configurations, weight, and flying altitude across different operational scenarios, there exist substantial variations in management and technical aspects among drone formations with different configurations, weights, and flying altitudes. Therefore, the standardization of drone swarm flight requirements is set to be a series of standards. The general principles define methods for categorizing and grading drone swarms, while other specific standards within this series will stipulate corresponding management and technical requirements based on the classifications proposed in the general principles. Subsequent planned specific standards include requirements for aerial shows, agricultural and forestry protection, logistics transportation, firefighting rescue, and line inspection operations.
