Implementation Suggestions

Purchasing Notes

  • Orders must clearly indicate AMS4100G version
  • Out-of-range dimensions (>6.32mm) require special agreement on mechanical properties
  • Suppliers are required to provide complete fracture toughness test reports

Key points of quality control

  1. Each batch must undergo electrical conductivity testing (≥39% IACS)
  2. Plates with a thickness ≥2.54mm must undergo exfoliation corrosion testing (≤EB grade)
  3. Yield strength must be retested when it exceeds the lower limit of 62MPa

Technological evolution analysis

From the first edition in 1979 to the 2024 G edition, the main improvement directions are:

  • 1980s: Focus on improving mechanical properties
  • After 2000: Strengthening corrosion protection requirements
  • 2024 edition: Improving the quality traceability system and adding exception clause management
