- Scope
- This standard covers materials, chemicals, components, products, equipment, and systems related to the operation of public and residential recreational water facilities. 1.2 Variations in Design and Operation Components that differ in design or operation may comply with this standard. Appropriate testing and investigation should show that the performance of such a component is equivalent to that of components complying with this standard. Such components should meet the requirements of this standard for materials, surface finishes, and construction. 1.3 Alternative Materials Where specific materials are mentioned, other materials that are equally satisfactory from a public health perspective may be used. 1.4 Standard Review This standard shall be reviewed comprehensively at least every 5 years. These reviews shall be conducted by representatives from industry, public health and user groups, or agencies affiliated with the NSF Joint Committee on Recreational Water Facilities.
