1. Accuracy standards

In areas below 60° latitude, the following must be met:

  • Stabilization time ≤6 hours (static/dynamic conditions)
  • Fixed-point error ≤0.75°×secφ
  • Sudden speed change (20 knots) error ≤2°

Typical application case: The waterproof bearing structure design of the ANSHUTZ series gyrocompass must meet the following requirements:

  1. Compass card scale error ±0.2°

Implementation Recommendations

1. Installation Points

  • The main compass should be installed at the position with minimum motion
  • The deviation between the repeater and the fore and aft reference line of the ship is ≤0.5°
  • Maintain a safe distance from the magnetic compass (measured according to IEC 60945)

2. Maintenance strategy

  1. Perform a Scorsby table simulation test every 6 months
  2. Annual voltage fluctuation test (±10% range)
  3. Regularly check the data update rate of the IEC 61162 interface (≥50Hz)
