Introduction

Analysis of the core content of the standard

As an international standard in the field of architectural drawing, ISO 7519:2024 systematically specifies the presentation principles of general layout drawings and assembly drawings. This standard is applicable to various drawing methods such as CAD and BIM. The main technical innovations include:

Technical Dimension 1991 Edition 2024 Edition Update
Drawing Type Definition Basic Classification New Site Plan and Site Layout Layer Levels
Representation Method Simple Line Specification Four-level Simplified Representation System + Detailed Representation Method
Technical Adaptation Traditional Drawing Compatible with CAD/BIM digital workflow

Drawing types and technical points

1. Drawing hierarchy system

The standard establishes 6 levels of drawing hierarchy:

  1. Site plan (geographical positioning)
  2. Site layout (building positioning)
  3. General layout (building as a whole)
  4. Assembly drawing (functional system)
  5. Component drawing (independent components)
  6. Detailed drawing (connection nodes)

2. Simplified representation method

According to the purpose and scale requirements of the drawing, four levels of simplified representation are adopted:

  • Low-level simplification: only the outline of the object is displayed (scale ≤1:100)
  • Intermediate simplification: Displays the main internal layers (scale 1:50-1:20)
  • Advanced simplification: Displays all visible features (scale ≥1:10)
  • Detailed representation: Includes manufacturing details and connectors

Implementation suggestions

1. Line application specifications

The standard strictly stipulates the application scenarios of 11 line types:

  • Cutting surface contour: Type 01.3 extra thick solid line
  • Hidden contour: Type 02.2 thick dashed line
  • Elevation change: Type 04.2 thick dotted line

2. Door and window representation case

The standard annex provides a standardized scheme for the door and window swing representation:

  • Swing door: 30° or 90° opening angle representation
  • Sliding door: dotted line represents the sliding trajectory
  • Revolving door: concentric circle symbol representation

Technical evolution analysis

Compared with the 1991 version, the new version of the standard has major technological breakthroughs:

  1. Digital adaptation: New presentation specifications for digital content such as point cloud data and BIM models
  2. Material representation: Section representations for 12 materials such as concrete and masonry are provided in Annex B
  3. Symbol system: Establish graphic symbol application principles consistent with ISO 81714
