Scope

This part of IEC 61169 is a sub-specification (SS) that provides information and rules for writing detailed specifications (DS) for the HD-BNC series of RF coaxial connectors, and is accompanied by a blank detailed specification template. The HD-BNC series connectors have a characteristic impedance of 75 Ω and are used for RF cables or microstrip lines in microwave, telecommunications, wireless and other fields. The upper operating frequency limit is 18 GHz. It also specifies the mating surface dimensions, gauge information, and tests selected from IEC 61169-1 for all HD-BNC series RF connector detailed specifications for universal connectors. This specification indicates the recommended performance characteristics that should be considered when writing detailed specifications, and covers the test plan and inspection requirements for evaluation levels M and H.
