Introduction

Core changes in the standard revision

Revision items 2013 edition 2024 edition Technical impact
Inspection environment requirements Temperature range not specified Constant temperature of 22℃±15℃ Improve the stability of test results
Dynamic test reference sample Not required New normative Appendix C Strengthen the verification of automatic inspection system
Dense defect assessment Only specify spacing requirements Add quantitative indicators of distribution density Improve the quality judgment system

Key instrument and equipment requirements

The standard puts forward clear performance indicators for ultrasonic testers and probes:

  • Probe frequency range: 2~15MHz, high frequency improves resolution (≤5.08mm), low frequency enhances penetration
  • Instrument linearity: vertical linearity error ≤±5% (upper limit ≥95%, lower limit ≤10%)
  • Dynamic test requirements: Multi-channel systems require effective sound beam tests on all probes

Key points for the implementation of inspection technology

Operation specifications for water immersion method

Calculation formula: water distance h > T×(V1/V2), where:

  • T=sample thickness, V1=speed of sound in water (1480m/s)
  • Wave control ≤±6mm, the secondary interface reflection wave needs to appear after the bottom wave

Defect assessment case

A Φ1.0mm defect was found in an AA grade aluminum alloy plate:

  1. A Φ1.2mm flat bottom hole comparison test block with similar burial depth was selected
  2. Adjust the gain so that the comparison test block amplitude reaches 80% of the full scale
  3. The measured defect amplitude is 62%, which is qualified according to Table 7

Quality acceptance level analysis

Grade Single defect Dense defects Bottom wave loss
AAA grade ≤Φ0.8mm Not applicable ≤50%
Grade A ≤Φ2.0mm 7 pieces/500mm ≤50%

Standard implementation suggestions

  1. Staff training: GB/T 9445 certification is required, and special training for dynamic testing is added
  2. Equipment upgrade: 15MHz high-frequency probe configuration, equipped with a regulated power supply (fluctuation ≤±2.5%)
  3. File management: Establish test block ultrasonic response curve archive, storage period ≥5 years
