GB/T 30784-2024 "Electric Equipment for Food Processing Equipment Planetary Mixers" replaces the previous GB/T30784-2014, and is mainly aimed at planetary mixers used in the food processing industry. The new standard has made important updates in terms of scope of application, term definitions, product structure and safety requirements.
With the development of the food processing industry, planetary mixers are being used more and more widely. However, the original GB/T30784-2014 standard can no longer meet the needs of the current industry. While retaining the original core content, the new version of the standard adds terms and definitions, optimizes product classification, and strengthens safety requirements, especially in terms of mechanical hazards, electrical safety and dust control.
| Old standard (GB/T 30784—2014) | New standard (GB/T 30784—2024) |
|---|---|
| Scope of application is limited to food processing industry | Extended to food industry, pharmaceutical industry, chemical industry and printing industry |
| No clear definition of terms | Added terms such as agitator, planetary motion and working position |
| Product classification based on power and structure | According to the capacity of the barrel, it is divided into Type I (5L≤V<10L) and Type II (10L≤V≤200L) |
| Hazard description is not systematic | Mechanical, electrical, thermal, noise, dust and other hazards and their control measures are listed in detail through tables |
| Dust control requirements are missing | Solid interlocking guards are added to reduce dust emissions |
The new standard emphasizes mechanical safety, electrical safety and dust control. For example, planetary mixers must comply with the safety design general principles of GB/T15706 and use interlocking devices to ensure the safety of operators. At the same time, the motor housing protection level is required to be IP23 to prevent the ingress of solid foreign matter and water.
The new standard adds technical specifications for the bucket lifting system, the opening size of the protective cover and the cleaning requirements. For example, the minimum distance requirement for protective covers is 120mm (Type I) and 80mm (Type II), and the use of removable protective devices is explicitly prohibited.
After adopting the new standard, a food processing plant significantly reduced flour dust emissions by installing solid interlocked protective devices. They also regularly cleaned and maintained the equipment to ensure that it met the requirements of GB/T22747.
