This revision (DL/T ××××-××××) is a comprehensive upgrade of the 2005 version of the standard, mainly reflecting three major technological breakthroughs: the introduction of fiber optic sensing technology, the application of micro-electromechanical technology, and the integration of GNSS positioning system. The standard deletes 4 types of outdated technical instruments and adds 12 types of new monitoring equipment, reflecting the leapfrog development of earth-rock dam monitoring technology in the past 15 years.
| Monitoring Category | Instrument Types in 2005 Edition | New Instruments in 2023 Edition | Technological Breakthrough |
|---|---|---|---|
| Deformation Monitoring | 6 Categories | 5 Categories, including Beam-type Settlement Meters and GNSS Equipment | Millimeter-level Accuracy Improved |
| Seepage Monitoring | 3 Categories | 2 Categories, including Piezometer Water Level Gauge Series | Dynamic Response Speed Improved by 40% |
Typical parameters of the newly added Fiber Bragg Grating Piezometer: measurement range 0~200kPa, resolution 0.02%FS, suitable for long-term monitoring of 200-meter-high dams. In a 300MW hydropower station application, it can achieve 72-hour early warning of abnormal seepage.
