Introduction

Standard Framework and Technology Evolution

This standard is the first special food safety standard for Pomelo Flower products in Fujian Province. It is formulated on the basis of national standards such as GB 2760 and GB 2763, combined with the characteristics of the Guanxi Honey Pomelo industry in southern Fujian. Compared with traditional agricultural product standards, new petal morphology descriptions (bullet-shaped/tongue-shaped) and specific pesticide residue controls (pyraclostrobin ≤3mg/kg) are added.

Comparative analysis of core indicators

Indicator type Requirements of this standard Reference to standards for similar flowers Difference in strictness
Water content ≤12.0g/100g Chrysanthemum standard≤13.0g/100g 8% higher
Lead limit ≤2.0mg/kg Jasmine standard≤5.0mg/kg 2.5 times stricter
Cypromethrin ≤5mg/kg GB2763 general limit 10mg/kg 2 times stricter

Interpretation of key technical requirements

4.1 Raw material control

It is clearly required to use the buds or flowers of Rutaceae Citrus genus Citrus, and exclude other closely related species (such as sour orange flowers). The freshness index particularly emphasizes "complete flower shape", which is directly related to the commercial nature of the subsequent processing into scented tea products.

4.4 Pollutant control

The cadmium limit (≤0.5mg/kg) is stricter than the national food general standard (≤0.1mg/kg), reflecting Fujian Province's strict control of soil heavy metal migration. The total mercury limit (≤0.1mg/kg) is the same as the EU EC No 1881/2006 standard.

Implementation recommendations

Production process optimization

A company in Pinghe County uses a gradient drying method (40℃ initial drying → 55℃ shaping → 35℃ slow drying) to keep the moisture content stable at 10.2-11.5g/100g, which is better than the standard requirements. It is recommended to establish a petal morphology grading system to increase the product premium space.

Key points for pesticide residue control

For the three pesticides listed in the standard, it is recommended to prohibit the use of pyraclostrobin 21 days before flowering, and use gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GB23200.8) for batch inspection during the harvest period, and the detection limit must be lower than 0.01mg/kg.
