Scope

The purpose of this publication is to provide information on the properties, manufacture, transportation, storage, handling, and use of sulfur dioxide. It also describes relevant regulatory requirements and safety practices in the United States and Canada. This information is intended to supplement, but not replace, national, state, provincial/regional, municipal, and insurance company regulations and requirements. The information in this publication is intended for shippers, carriers, distributors, repackagers, consumers, equipment designers or installers, safety managers, and others who wish to understand the subject of sulfur dioxide.
