Scope

This Publicly Available Specification (PAS) provides guidance for care providers using the principles and recommendations of Dementia Care Mapping (DCM) to improve the quality of person-centred care (PCC) for people with dementia. It is intended for those responsible for implementing, delivering and managing care standards, quality assurance and improvement processes in health and social care. This PAS is suitable for providers of care homes, nursing homes, hospital wards, day care and respite care services where a large number of service users have moderate to severe dementia.
