This document specifies methods for the determination of the zeta potential in porous materials that are saturated with a liquid and whose pores are easily accessible. There are no restrictions on the zeta potential value or the porosity of the porous material. Pore sizes are assumed to be hundreds of micrometers or less and there are no restrictions on pore geometry. This document covers applications using both alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC) methods with aqueous media as the wetting liquid. This document is limited to the linear electrokinetic effect.
