Translation projects. General guidance

Scope: This document provides general guidance for all phases of a translation project. Its primary purpose is to ensure efficiency and quality by enhancing communication between all parties involved in a translation project. This document provides a framework for developing translation project specifications that are the basis for requesting, establishing, managing, and evaluating translation projects. Guidance on needs analysis, risk assessment, and workflow is also included, but it does not provide procedures for evaluating the quality of translation output. This document is primarily intended for persons requesting translation services. However, it is also relevant to translation service providers and end users of translation output. Applicable to all sectors, including the commercial and government sectors and non-profit organizations. Not applicable to interpreting services.
