This standard applies to the product quality control of natural layered talc/chlorite mixtures, and defines the technical indicators of four mineral grades (AD grades):
| Grade | Talc content (%) | Chlorite content (%) | Loss on ignition range (%) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Grade A | 85-100 | 0-15 | 4.7-9.5 |
| Grade B | 70-85 | 5-30 | 5.9-11.1 |
| Grade C | 30-70 | 20-70 | 7.0-13.9 |
| Grade D | 0-30 | 60-100 | 9.8-16.0 |
The ratio of talc (3MgO·4SiO2·H2O) and chlorite (MgAl2[(OH)2/Al2Si2O10]·Mg3(OH)6) is determined by X-ray diffraction method, and the total content must meet ≥90%

Note: It is prohibited to use XRD alone as the basis for judgment
| Grade | Typical application | Advantages and characteristics |
|---|---|---|
| Grade A | Cosmetic base | High purity talc |
| Grade D | Ceramic filler | Good thermal stability |
Compared with the 2000 version of the standard, this revision mainly reflects three major trends:
