Analysis of the core content of the standard
BS EN 2267-011:2023 specifies the technical requirements for DZA series cables suitable for non-pressurized areas of aircraft. The main features include:
- Operating temperature range: -65°C to 260°C
- Voltage level: 115VAC (phase-to-neutral)/200VAC (phase-to-phase) or 230VAC/400VAC
- Arc resistance verification (damage ≤70mm under 230VAC conditions)
Material and structural requirements
| Components | Technical requirements | Reference standards |
| Conductor | Copper or copper alloy + nickel plating (Type D), in line with EN 4434:2005 tight tolerances | 4.1.1 |
| Insulation layer | Foaming material is prohibited, minimum bending radius without wrinkles (EN 3475-405) | 4.1.2 |
| Lightweight version | Code "L", outer diameter/weight reduced by 5-12% (see Table 1) | 4.2 |
Key performance test requirements
Electrical performance
- Partial discharge inception voltage (PDIV): ≥566V RMS @145mbar/150°C
- Hipple test: Dry pulse 4.0kV RMS
- Insulation resistance: In accordance with EN 3475-303
Mechanical properties
- Dynamic cutting force: 9mm² cable must be ≥135N at 260°C
- Low temperature bending: -65°C passed the test
- Scratch test: 1.2mm² cable 10N needle pressure resistance
Standard evolution analysis
Main changes compared to the 2015 version:
- New lightweight versions (L12/L30/L51/L90)
- Expanded AWG specifications to 8/10/12/16
- Updated arc resistance test method (EN 3475-604/605)
Implementation recommendations
Design selection
Lightweight versions are preferred for non-pressurized areas. Note: L series must be clearly marked in the logo
Quality control
- Bend test + visual inspection (3x magnification, no wrinkles) is required for each batch
- Regular verification of coating continuity (EN 3475-506)
- Dry arc propagation test must be performed on 230VAC systems
Installation specifications
Refer to EN 2084:2018 minimum bending radius requirements to avoid mechanical damage to the insulation layer
