Material Technical Requirements

The standard stipulates that fittings must be made of polyamide materials that comply with the D4066/D6779 standard, among which:

• PA32312 fittings can only be welded with pipes of the same model
• PA42316 fittings must be used with PA12 pipes

In the natural gas transmission system, PA12 fittings with DR11 specifications must meet the following requirements:

Key points for quality control

1. Wall thickness of weld area must be ≥ thickness of connected pipe (Table 3/4/5)
2. Sampling of each batch shall be subject to D1599 burst test
3. Marking should include: ASTM standard number, material code, production date

Note: Drinking water system fittings must additionally meet NSF/ANSI 61 certification requirements.
