| Technical parameters | Type A (medium density) | Type B (high density) |
|---|---|---|
| Warp density (roots/25mm) | 24-144 | 21-108 |
| Weft density (roots/25mm) | 33-34 | 38-42 |
| Minimum breaking strength (N) | 445-2513 | 200-1957 |
The standard clearly requires that glass fiber tape must be made of 'E' grade electrical glass fiber yarn without free alkali metal salts. Organic materials can be added during the manufacturing process to improve weaving performance, but the content must be controlled within <4.0% (pass D4963/D4963M test).
The standard adopts the ANSI/ASQC Z1.4 sampling plan. The permitted defects include: - Major defects AQL=0.65/100 units - Total defects AQL=2.5/100 units For the determination of typical defects, please refer to Table 7 of the standard. For example, holes and broken yarns ≥50mm are considered major defects.
Main updates in this version (2024):
1. Added width tolerance grading for glass fiber tape (<25.4mm±0.8mm, ≥25.4mm±1.6mm)
2. Clarified that test data from CRE and CRT tensile testing machines are not comparable
3. Updated D7018/D7018M terminology reference versions
