Scope

This document specifies the coding rules for prescriptions and provides specific codes for 1,233 commonly used prescriptions. Chinese patent medicines (CPMs) are not within the scope of this document. Kampo medicines are not within the scope of this document. This document is applicable to databases related to electronic medical records and prescriptions of traditional Chinese medicine in the fields of clinical medication, scientific research, and teaching.
