This standard specifies the composition of the International System of Units (SI) codes, the structure of the SI unit codes, the SI prefix codes, and the decimal multiple unit codes of SI units, as well as the principle of combining unit codes. This standard also stipulates the codes of other legal units of measurement in my country that can be used together with the SI codes. This standard applies to information exchange between information processing systems and related equipment.
