Key Technology Upgrade

Compared with the 2003 version of the standard, the 2015 version has the following major improvements:

  1. The slow crack growth resistance index has been increased from 165h to 500h
  2. New Compression recovery test requirements (Appendix F)
  3. Added high crack resistance PE100 material specifications (Appendix D)
  4. Pipe color identification system optimization (orange PE100 exclusive)

Implementation Suggestions

Key points for design selection:

  • SDR11/SDR17 are commonly used pressure levels
  • SDR21/SDR26 pipes are preferred for trenchless construction
  • Artificial gas transportation requires special consideration of medium corrosiveness

Key to quality control:

  • Focus on 80℃/165h hydrostatic test
  • Welding compatibility verification cannot be ignored
  • Carbon black dispersion must be ≤ level 3
