Scope
This part of IEC 60092 specifies the requirements for the design, construction and installation of electrical systems on board small vessels not exceeding 50 m in length and 500 GT (Gross Tonne) gross tonnage which are designed for use in inland waters or at sea. It is not intended to apply: (a) to small vessels equipped only with a battery supplying circuits for starting an engine and for navigation lights recharged by an alternator driven by an inboard or outboard engine; b) pleasure craft with a hull length of less than 24 m requiring compliance with Recreational Craft Directive 94/25/EC, Annex 1 Essential Requirements, Part 5.3 Electrical Systems, with the exception of installations three-phase alternating current of such pleasure craft which operate at a rated voltage not exceeding 500 V alternating current.
