Scope

This International Standard specifies a method for evaluating the maturity of randomly selected cotton fibers by measuring the airflow resis ance of a plug of cotton fibers under two predefined conditions. The method is applicable to cotton taken randomly from bales. It is possible to control webs and rovings or other sources of ginned cotton; however, results may be different compared to fibers collected from bales.
